The Misson of the Society is to facilitate and coordinate the identification, collection, and preservation of local historical information, artifacts, and memorabilia for the benefit and sharing of all interested parties.

The Society will operate as a Non-Profit organization to facilitate its objectives. It shall include all of Margaretta Township, the Margaretta School District, past and present, and the communities of Castalia, Venice, Bay View, Bay Bridge, Crystal Rock, and Whites Landing located in the State of Ohio.

The objectives of this organization shall be:
a) to promote and conduct research in local history and family genealogy
b) to identify and catalogue historical information and memorabilia
c) to provide a mechanism for sharing historical items among the members
d) to facilitate the aquisition of gifts of historical material for permanent display
e) to encourage the loan of items of historical or educational significance for special exhibits
f) to encourage and assist area youth to learn about their heritage
g) to provide an area museum, at some future date, for the pleasure and education of the public
h) to provide education activities to the public
i) to raise funds to support the objectives and activities of the Society
